Democratic Leadership Council and Excite@Home to Host An Online Town Hall Meeting

The Democratic Leadership Council and Excite@Home announced today an historic partnership to host an online town hall meeting with President Bill Clinton and other New Democrat elected officials: The New Politics of the Information Age: DLC's Town Hall Voice Chat, on Monday, November 8, 1999, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m EST.

Using Excite voice chat technology powered by Lipstream, President Clinton and other New Democrat rising stars from around the country will engage in an online discussion on the common values and priorities of progressive Third Way politics in the Information Age.

President Clinton will participate in the online town hall meeting from Washington, D.C., with the other New Democrat elected officials participating from their own states and communities throughout the country. Internet users will have the opportunity to submit questions to both President Clinton and the other elected officials, while watching the event live on their computers. The web broadcast will also be available via satellite.

Over 15,000 web users are expected to participate in this online event.
